The name Bidjar is synonymous with resilience for carpet connoisseurs. The knots and weft threads are pressed together by the comb so that the hair stands almost vertically upwards. This results in a very compact hair surface. Sand and stones are hard to get into the carpet. These rugs are usually red, blue and beige.
The most common pattern is the so-called Herat pattern also called fish pattern. Medallions and floral motifs also appear. Bidjar rugs are made in most sizes.í.
